Work backwards from the room

List the end result: structural opening, lighting, services, kitchen, floor and decoration. Identify the decisions that affect more than one trade, including columns, headroom and finished floor levels.

Fix the structural basis

Coordinate the desired layout with the engineer before final fabrication or kitchen orders. A changed opening can affect the beam, supports and finishing dimensions. Keep a single current drawing set for everyone involved.

Use clear handover points

Agree when the structure is checked, when temporary support can be removed and when the next trade can measure or start. Plaster, flooring and other selected products may have their own preparation and drying requirements.

Allow for unresolved information

Missing records, permissions or discoveries on site can change the programme. Make dependencies visible in the planning and agree who communicates changes. A realistic shared sequence is more useful than unrelated promises from separate trades.
