Put the scope beside the price
Check whether every quotation covers the same opening, structural design and finish. Separate calculations, drawings, steel, temporary support, installation, protection and waste removal. A lower total can reflect work that another quotation has included.
Look for interfaces
Find out who handles permissions, VvE communication, services and the handover to finishing trades. Ask whether municipal fees and additional investigations are included. Essential responsibilities should not sit between two contractors without an owner.
Read the assumptions
A quotation may depend on access, drawings or construction that has not yet been inspected. Ask how those assumptions will be checked and how additional work is agreed. Confirm VAT, provisional amounts and the validity of the offer.
Confirm the agreed version
Record your choices in the final quotation and retain the applicable terms. Do not rely on an earlier email to add a major task that is missing from the signed scope. Clear written boundaries make comparison and handover easier.
